Diva, wow he's HUGE ..... but these are SUCH GREAT dogs from a really great breeder .... I like the way those guys only have 1 litter per year .... they certainly aren't in it for the money .... the dogs we've got have been finly bred, and also arrived very well socialized. I've had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS with Lil ..... she became mine once I released her from the crate, and she's remained just that .... mine .... but she mixes really well with everyone ..... including other dogs .... whenever Melody would mention her in an email tome last week while we had them boarded with her, she would say "Lil and the gang" .... Lil was Little Miss In Charge leading the herd .... which by the way, included a Dane puppy of 5 months that weighs 60lbs ..... She also "fell" into walking on leash as though she was born to do it, was stacking for me the 2nd day I had her and is gaiting rather nicely for me, although when she's tired, she does pace some - but I've learned to change my speed or do a circle with her and she automatically changes step ..... Dave needs to take me 2 photo's of her for AKC registration, and I'll put those up for you all to see her .... she'll also be unposted, so you'll be able to see how nice and perky her ears are ....the leather has really thickened up nicely .... we should be able to release her from posting within the next 2 months .... I don't want to stop too quickly, as those ears need to hold!!!

Yes Diva, I am over the moon with this little girl!! She is SO SMART!!! Dave now has her retrieving the frisbee .... so pretty soon I can start the obedience showing. I've decided I'm not going to try SchH with her ... but will rather do either rally or obedience .... please don't laugh too loudly at me, but I had been doing general obedience in the house, so I just decided to enter us in the Obedience trial at the puppy match this past weekend just to see how she would do .... little did I know the dog had to be 6mo's old .... oh well, I just entered us and she did the course just fine for me .... the wheels eventually came off when I had to put her in a "sit" and walk around the ring thing .... she did the sit stay for me about half way round the ring, and the came over to me .... needless to say the judge wanted to know how old she was and I was quickly told I shouldn't have entered her .... but personally for me I learned a lot (I'd NEVER EVER been in an obedience show ring before) and it also told me how smart my little girl is!!! She walked the figure 8 just fine with me halted when I did, didn't pull on the leash, did the about turns and left and right turns JUST GREAT ...

Funny thing is Tina, I had her entered in the 3-6mo conformation group as well .... so I just kinda figured I could put her in the obedience .... just goes to show ;D ..... but it was a good experience .... and now I know exactly what to do for obedience showing .... and it was just a match ....so no points anyway

GemasMom; Just catching back up here so can you explain how a 4 month old weighs 94lbs? Or does this weight mark belong to another dog??? Maybe I've confussed your dogs name?? Von

Von you got it wrong. The boy is 60lbs at 17weeks.
Asha is 74lbs at 8 months and Gino is 84lbs at 2 1/2 years. She is a bit bigger than I expected... but that's not too bad.

Von Von that is a misplaced number... that should be for Gemma who is 20 months... it is just in the wrong place! Saava is 18 weeks and 60 lbs... he is not far behind, but a long way from 94 yet!

OK, I thought it was very high and its always better to keep them lean especially as they grow through the stages were their growth rate is so fast. Even 60lbs. for a 4 1/2 month old pup is alot of weight, be watchfull for pano. Some breeders think that genetics is the cause others feel that diet is to blame. I think genetics is most likely the cause but an improper diet that promotes growth at an excellorated rate can still cause the long bones to grow without enough cells to fill the area to maintain strength. Is this the imported puppy? Von

Is this the imported puppy? Von I had Neo's for 20 years before Dobermans, so I know about Pano... I had a Neo bitch puppy who had Pano... she was little too... My biggest bitch never had any issues and she was 65 lbs at 16 weeks and matured out at 165 lbs... Saava is lean... he has ribs showing slightly under his shiny sleek coat... His ankles are 5.5" around! he carries his weight in his bones.. he is massive bone... Gemma has 5" thick ankles and she i 90lbs and she is 26.5" tall... She is massive bone too, but Saava is even bigger! He is a laid back... easy going fella.. Gemma is a NON stop ON button dog.... I was more worried about pano with her, because I could not keep her still! I think Saava is just really heavy because his bone is 1/2 times larger than most puppies his age. His sister is 47 lbs! she is bigger than Gemma was at this age and I thought she was huge!

Cath: How tall is Lilly Now? I just measured Saava on a table leg.... a ruler on his shoulder and a mark to get a pretty accurate measurement... he is 22" tall as shoulder at 18 weeks or are they 19 weeks this saturday? I think so.... so he is 19 weeks and his ears are standing beautifully today!
