My dogs enjoy the water as long as is not from a waterhose. These rascals love to get in the mud or rub the dirt after a good bath. I wash them every other week and have been rather curious as to how often most of you wash your family member. Do you believe on taking them to the vet or wash stations (business) to give them a bath or do you do it on your own? Is there a rule for how much is too much? or, in Winter how many times should they get bathed and wether inside or outside baths. Thanks!

Typically we won't bath our dogs more than once a month, and we use a moisturizing dog shampoo to keep their skin from getting dry. In between baths we use a spray bottle with a dry shampoo.
Our boy Jake sleeps with the kids so he gets bathed a little more often. So I guess it would depend on where the dogs sleep and how smelly they get.

Not in the winter, I use a spray bottle with 2oz. of Apple Cidar vinegar (Braggs) with about 20oz of water and a few drops of olive oil and soak him down when the heat in the house begins to dry him out. Massage it in then brush or towell him off. In the summer I give one bath then rinse with ACV 6oz mixed into a gallon bucket and let him dry off. Then bath if he gets very dirty but thats rare, where we exercise theres no puddles for mud baths so he stays clean. Some dogs can be bathed often and others can get dry from to many baths. Just pay attention to how the skin and coat react to the baths. Remember a Dobermanns coat should NOT be soft and smooth their coats should have a tight coarse feel, not hard but not soft either. Von
