im sort of nervous, i have never done one before... Im very excited to help a DRU dobie find a good home... if anyone has any pointers lay em on me !!!!! ;D

I am no expert, but I have gone on a home visit for the Illinois Doberman Rescue. They sent me a list of Do's and Don'ts that I doubt they will mind if I share with you. I guess if I were to add anything in my own words it would be to put your potential adopters at ease. Don't make it seem like the Grand Inquisition. They may well not really understand why there are so many questions and concerns. You are advocating for the dog, however, not the adopter. Some folks just don't quite grasp that concept. thanks... im gonna print that and study it.. DRU gave me some guidlines to. i breifly spoke with the potential adopter , she lost her 13 yo about 6 months ago.. he passed in his sleep.. this ones gonna be a tear jerker... trial by fire for me LOL

Good luck and be calm, friendly but do not get distracted from what you are there to do - be observant and do take notes about their answers to your questions which will help you when you review and report about your home visit
