Usually the puppy pool is big enough for the pups to call home until they are about 3 weeks old -but with 13 pups - that just was not going to fly lol - so today we had "moving day" so the dogs are all confused where they were to sleep!
here was Jaz and the pups the day they were born - plenty of room in that pool
and look at them today at 13 days old - amazing how much they have grown!
here are their new sleeping quarters - the 4X8 whelping box - which they will outgrow in another week or 10 days and then they will graduate to the puppy play pen which is 8X10!!!
Here are a couple of cute photos taken today
My how time flies!! pups will be 2 weeks old tomorrow!

Day - the moms keep their bottoms clean until you start supplemental feeding the puppies - for me that is usually about 3 weeks old. Keeping moms and babies on blankets instead on shreded paper is kind of old school - and it does make for a lot of laundry, but I like my momma's to have a nice thick pad of blankets to lay on
so for another week or so - Jaz keeps the bottoms clean and the blanket too - allthough some are already starting to pee on their own.

You are going to have your hands full lady with the new litter soon to arrive and this litter being on the move much more in the next week or so. Are you hiring help? If so, I will come and help!! Playing with those babies will be tough, but I would force myself to do it just for you.

actually since I've not been able to find a "real" job - taking care of the pups - both litters will be my job.
Clean up and laundry will take some organizing and dedication to stay ahead of it - but its doable
I do have volunteers help with puppy socialization and handling - this is to me almost more important than the clean up - almost hehehe
The time just does pass so quickly once you are in with the pups - thank goodness there won't be any overlap of doing the bio sensor exercises - I will be done with Jaz's litter right before Trinity's will be done and we dont' start til day 3 or 4 anyway.
I also thank goodness have 2 large puppy yards avaialable so the pups can get lots of outside time once they are 4 weeks old - that really helps with the cleaning and disenfecting of the living areas.
Also Jaz's pups will be off to their new homes right when Trinity's pups are cropped so I will have a little break from posting ears - it is daunting when I think of possibly dremmeling 20+ puppy toe nails - thats 80 puppy paws!!! also it will take twice as long to put puppies in their crates when its time to go to bec and twice as long to get them out in the morning -
Its all about the organization lol - I've never had 2 litters this close - but mother nature is the one driving that bus .... not me!
and the something that will have to give is the time on the computer - that will have to be while the pups are sleeping - thank goodness they sleep about 20 hours a day when they are little!

Gail, when you get a chance can you explain what bio sensor exercises you do with them? I know it is a lot to ask of you right now, but figured since you are in between litters right now... LOL!! I would appreciate it when you get a minute. You have alluded to it a couple of times but thought I would nail you to a description this time around.

I appologize -I've meant to post here the information on the Bio-Sensor exercises - I have used these now for the last 3 litters and I can honestly say it puts pups at lease a week to 10 days ahead physically than my other litters - for example I am posting a video of Ms Pink who is walking - drunken sailor style - but she is problme solving (figured out how to get over the crumpled up towel in the middle of the box and get to mom cause she was hungry - this is a 2 week old puppy! and she has been doing this for days - all the pups have - they have been up on their legs and using them with amazing coordination for at least a week. Here is a link to the thread just posted on the Bio Sensor exercises dobermannstation.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=puppies&thread=274Video of Ms Pink taken this evening - 2 weeks old www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWjZS5ORIMw
