This is great news and a great parntership - and exactly what I was remarking on in the PP post - There is a lot of insurance dollars to be had - by the one that focuses on or specializes in providing policies that will allow for the "usual suspects" i.e. breeds that most insurance companies use to deny coverage - All you need is AKC STAR Puppy Cert and CGC Cert and it appears that The Hartford will insur your AKC dog !

Every responsible breeder hopes that their puppies will be going to good homes where they are cared for, provided with basic training, and loved. Many first-time puppy owners want to be responsible, but they just don’t know where to start. Not all of the puppies you place in loving homes will go on to become conformation champions, but there are two AKC programs in which everyone can win.
Canine Good Citizen
Started in 1989, the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen® program focuses on teaching dogs to be well-behaved at home and in the community. CGC’s tag line, “Responsible Owners, Well-Mannered Dogs,” says it all.
In CGC, dogs are trained and then take a 10-step test to earn the Canine Good Citizen certificate. The CGC test is administered by AKC-approved CGC evaluators.
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy
The puppy level of CGC is AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy®. S.T.A.R. stands for “Socialization, Training, Activity, and a Responsible owner,” all the things every puppy needs to have a great life. With the tag line “The first step in training,” AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an incentive program for loving owners who have taken the time to put their puppies through a basic training class. Puppies and their owners must attend a training class at least six weeks long before earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy certificate and medal.
