I don't want to be a jerk... but I know too many dogs with DCM negative gene test that died from DCM. Sorry... but its better not to relay on it and holter her.

Sorry for being negative. Gino's brother suddenly died from CHF. His DCM genetic test was negative. It gave a false confidence to his owner.... and he is not alone. Another dog Petey died at 4,5 and his genetic test was negative. It's very misleading test and people should not relay on it.

Everybody knows its only one Gen, but its the right way to go and looking at the pedigrees and doing some research helps too If you have a pedigree were you see a lot of DCM deads and see they might only lived til 5, then you get a idea what might could be happens to your dog, even if the test is negative. And that its with every single test you do, nothing in life its 100%

DCM may strike in any pedigree... unfortunately.

DCM may strike in any pedigree... unfortunately. It might, but if you do your research and stay away from pedigrees where so many dogs died on DCM, you reduce the risk. But sure if you go for the big name like fedor or maxim, you know what you get yourself into and nobody is then very surprised if a dog dies young, you know the risk or you should if you do your homework. Like i said nothing its perfect and because nobody died on a heartattack in my family, dosen't mean i don't, but the chance that i get one, isn't very high, because of my family backround. Same with pedigrees
