Ok may be I drop a bom, if so sorry for that, a friend of my went to a conference pennvetwdc.org/the things below they speak about. www.vizslacanada.ca/SNBehaviorBoneDataSnapShot.pdfthis theory already recognize here in the Netherlands, and lots of vets do spay / neuter if there is a medical reason for it. I do understand why in your country spay and neuter is such an issue, at the other hand I always wonder why we don't have that problem here, not that it is perfect, and we have some shelters, but at the moment there only about 6 dobes on the rescue list. I always think were exactly the problem is, I think it allready started with the AKC and the goverment, I do think you have to educate them more, and try to make arrangement with the AKC, here there are rules to breed, otherwise you don't get a pedigree, with the dutch dobermannclub they have some arrangements with the dutch kennelclub, and everyone have to hold on too. So really my question is, how comes that there is such a huge problem at your site, and here it don't compare to it! Dont tell me the country is bigger, people are everywhere the same..... I just wonder nothing more nothing less because here with not spay/neuter dogs there are hardly accidents, happened sometimes but not compared overthere

I think that there is a huge lack of education on the issue here and also people are irresponsible. When I was in Germany I heard a lot of stories of soldiers abandoning their pets, which is terrible. A lot of the German breeders did not want to or wouldn't sell to Americans and I can see why. I love my country but we have a lot of people who feel entitled and that is a huge issue. If people would take responsibility and do their research before getting a pet and then continue to be responsible we might not have such a huge issue.
Amy
Just my opinion!!!!!
