I am actually quite embarrassed to write this after all the times I have said it hasnt happened to me I had Cass back at the vet today for a recheck. She is on antibiotics for a vaginitis and Cayden has been "interested" in her for the past few days. We put this down to the infection. So today we go back and everything checks out well. No discharge of any kind and all looking really well. We book her in for a spay on Wednesday as when we originally took her in we suspected Pyo and I dont want to risk it again with her age. We get home and let the other dogs out put the shopping in the house and turn round and there you have it they are tied. I was not happy to say the least. The slag is obviously in heat with no signs or symptoms. Called the vet and rebooked her spay for 2 months down the line and we discussed where to go from here. I have decided to give it a month and get her checked out. It she is carrying which we really doubt due to her age she will be given the injection to abort. If not then thank god. She is on medication for arthiritis and the antibiotics and I dont want her to have any more medication at the moment hence the reason to wait. What would you do? I am so angry at myself but like i said there was no sign and even the vet didnt know. I will never say "its never happened to me again"

Welcome to LIFE WITH DOGS, Lynz. Chances are, with her age in consideration, that she will be empty (we all hope!). At least you now know that Cayden has all his 'working parts'...HAHAHAHA Not sure about you, but we have meds here that we can get at the vets to take care of 'accidents' immediately. Good luck!

Well crap Lynz!! Those damn living creatures have a way of mucking things up. Fingers are crossed that she is empty and the spay can continue on as scheduled. Good luck sweetie!!
