Finally was able to get a relatively decent photo and tried to post but it didn't work the first time? so not sure if this will either. This is my N/A-S/A x. He was interupted from "guard duty" in order to take this. He has a very kind demeanor as the photo indicates. Although sometimes I just think a bit too friendly. But then that is another topic. As you may notice he does like his food. Attachments:

He is a big boy and yep loves his food thats for sure LOL, like my Apollo, but just between me and you, it might time to get the dremmel out and get the nails done. They are to long and people on here, will tell you, i'm the nail police LOL And the easiest way to post pic is to make a photobucket account. Download your pic's on there, then just copy and past the IMG link tight into the post and voila there is the pic or it should be, hehehehe

A handsome young man no doubt. The Euros and the S/A breds have their own look about them, nice serious expressions and an alert eye!! .............and yes the dremmel is needed on the nails. He's not guite splay toed but he is back on the pasterns to ease the weight on the long nails. I don't like them cut back to the point they have no grasping power with them but they can't have length that weakens their legs and can cause discomfort either. Hexe (Tina) is our "nail patrol" "witch" so if she says its true!!! hahahaha!!!! Nice Dog! Von.

Granted his nails are TOO long however, I have had him for ONE MONTH and as a result it is a WORK in progress. Thank you for your expertise! He IS weak in the pasterns but not entirely due to length of nails although I am very sure that is a major contributing factor. I DID not place his photo on this forum for a Conformation critique. As I stated, he strictly a pet dog with a lovely temperment! Thank you but had I wanted a bonfide critque I would have submitted a STACK photo with a request thereto

Hi he is a lovely boy. I dont think either Tina or Von meant anything bad when giving a "critique" on him. They were merely mentioning his nails as a lot of new(oven old) members do not realise the risk and benefit factors from short nails.
Its great having you here and look foward to your dobe tales.

Thank you so much for your insight and perhaps I did become a TAD over reactive! I am all to inclined to see the issues resulting from poorly cared nails. Although I HATE nails, I am a firm believer in dremeling 3x month. Unfotrtunately he has NO USE for the dremel so we are still in the learning process. Thank you for your obvious capability to fairly moderate. Here is another pic of him! Attachments:

Great photo. Alert and on guard, just what you want! Love his super shiny coat. Whats his story? how come you have only had him a short time? Oh and whats his name? ;D I had actually attempted to obtain him last year and his owner had opted to keep him! The the owner has had a life change and contacted me to see if I was till be interested in him. Of course, there was no question in my mind. The owner was located in another state and drove to bring him to me! He was offered to me with his AKC papers and all personal belongings. He is Ch sired on the sire and as mentioned before Arg Ch bred on the Dam's side. He did have some initial coat issues which were quickly remedied with a medicated shampoo and a change in diet. He also has a very sweet almost puppy temperment but evidently did have issues with women as became all to evident early on. After hearing the story, I personally feel that perhaps it was the WOMAN in his life who created the issues. He has learned to be very respectful. I have to appreciate the breeder for producing such a beauitful dog and his previous owner for putting the time and training into what has made him a wonderful companion. He is very kind hearted and a gentle dog.

Appears to be quite a confident boy in the pics. Thank you for sharing with us (and I should have fore-warned you about our nail police...LOL). Yeah, even I get hit quite often on the 'nail duty' HAHAHAHA

No need...I definitely over reacted. And if anyone should apologize it is me. He is just such a bear with nails. My other dog all but hands you his feet to be dremeled, but then I started him as a puppy. So the black dog can be and is a constant challenge! But perhaps that is one of the reason I love the breed! Never boring!

I just wanted to state that yesterday, I dremeled the new dogs nail.s WITHOUT any issue, no leashes, no holding him down, etc. He was totally receptive to sitting and allowing me to dremel the front nails as well as the back. This is a FIRST. I feel like I won the LOTTERY. It has been 2 months almost to the date since he arrived here. And the difference in his personality and willingless is absolutely awesome. I think we crosses the "threshold" to harmony.
