At the request of Dr. Mark Neff, our *Doberman DNA Researcher
This type of research truly does *go both ways*, with discoveries in canines sometimes, for example, benefiting children as he notes below, and discoveries in humans sometimes benefiting canines.
Dr. Neff and his team continue to work with dedication on DNA research involving Doberman cancers, wobblers, liver disease, dings and other breed conditions. We anticipate updates during the course of this year.
Please crosspost- Thank you!
I am writing to request your help in bringing attention to a fund-raising event coming this Friday (March 23rd) at the Van Andel Research Institute in Michigan.
I am participating in "Shave to Save", which will raise awareness and funds to support research aimed at tackling pediatric cancer.
As you know, several of the canine cancers we study are also devastating to children.
Bone cancer, for instance, is all too often fatal when it spreads to the lungs, both in pediatric patients and canines. Indeed, we are in this fight together.
I would like to reach out and ask those who have supported our research into canine cancer to similarly show their support for children burdened with these same illnesses.
I am asking breeders and owners who have participated in our canine research to consider pledging just $5 to this event (which is being sponsored by a wonderful cadre of grad students).
Here is the link to submit a donation -- this will ensure that my head is shaved this Friday.

Thanks for your past and continued support!
