Posting, or Taping Cropped Doberman Ears
There are several methods and styles of posting your puppies ears. I have listed links below to several – watch them all and chose a method that will work the easiest or you. This is important because you will be taping your pups ears until 5 or 6 months and the longer the crop (i.e. show crop) the longer you will be posting.
Be patient and persevere for as long as it takes for the ears to stand the end result is so worth all the hard work.
A tip from someone who has been posting pups for 30 years – chose to re-post when your puppy is tired and ready to go to sleep – many will sleep right through the process.
From the DPCA Website – Old school for some but I still use this method very successfully today

Even though these videos are of a Great Dane the process is exactly the same. This set of 3 are the BEST ear posting instructions I have ever seen – so I highly recommend. The first video shows you how to TAKE DOWN the ears once posted – this is very important because you could inadvertently cut the pups ears if you are not careful – these 3 videos are excellent

Molded Foam Inserts
I love this system for posting the ears – its much like above but it has a kit with all the supplies –

German Shepherd Ear Supports - I found out about these ear inserts from my long time friend who has German Shepherds. They would need some trimming but I think they would also work for gluing in the ear to train it to stand – and you don’t have to worry about all that taping!!
